Bridgeport Public
Schools Communications Department to Close Effective July 15,
2011
Due to budget cuts, the Director of
Communications position, as well as the Communications Department, will be
eliminated on Friday, July 15,
2011.
“Through our work and commitment over
the last three years, we have improved the image of Bridgeport Public Schools,”
states Veronica Douglas-Givan, Director of Communications and External Affairs.
“With a pro-active communications department, we’ve improved public relations
and outreach to parents and local communities. Our interaction with the media
has also given the region a better understanding of who our scholars are, as
well as their challenges and triumphs. We appreciate the communication we’ve
shared with parents, teachers, and the supporting community over the past three
years.”
