    April 2018 in Waltersville 

    Students, parents and staff rallied together at the City Council meeting to express their feelings about the outrages budget cuts that would lead to not having an assistant principal, literacy and math coach. These students, parents and staff members bravely spoke up in favor of funding and saving these positions.

    Spring time has finally arrived and it's time to clean up the school garden. Thank you to Mr. Barlaam and the SLOBS from Staples High School and all the staff, students and parents that volunteered their time to make our school beautiful!

Snowy School Information

  • Important things to remember when the winter weather starts blowing into Bridgeport:

    Listen to WICC in the morning to see if there is a delay or if school is canceled.

    90 minute delay- school starts at 10:20 am
    2 hour delay- school starts at 10:50 am


Early Dismissal Procedure

    • A request for early dismissal letter must be written and signed by parent/guardian and must include reason for dismissal, the date and time the child is to leave school and a working telephone number to reach the parent to verify the letter.
    • Parents/Guardians must come to the main office to pick-up the student.
    • The early dismissal log must be signed.
    • Students must be picked up prior to 2:30 pm during a full-day and 12:00 pm otherwise doors will be locked until the scheduled dismissal time.

    **Please be aware that early dismissal occurrences will be documented as part of your childs permanent record.




Box Tops for Education

  • Please check your kitchen cabinets for items that have a Box Tops for Education label. Our school receives funds for the box tops we collect. This helps us to purchase supplies needed for the school. SEND IN YOUR BOX TOPS!
