Read Aloud Day 2019
October 24, 2019 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
SVAB is looking forward to the 34th anniversary of Read Aloud Day, which will take place on Thursday, October 24th. On this day, six hundred and fifty volunteers who live and work in the greater Bridgeport community will gather in the schools to share their love of reading with every pre-kindergarten through sixth grade class in the Bridgeport Public Schools. We hope that the enthusiasm shown by our volunteers for reading and learning will inspire children to continue reading on their own and develop the skills that will make them successful in school and life.
The organization will provide the books, which have been selected for each grade level. Volunteers will share such wonderful stories as The T-Rex Who Lost His Specs! and Thirty Minutes Over Oregon: A Japanese Pilot’s Word War II Story. All books will be donated to the classroom libraries after they are read.
Please call the office to find out more about this rewarding event or return the registration form posted on this website.
Read Aloud Day 2019 is made possible through the generosity of:
