Greater Fairfield County Scholarship (Greater Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk and Stamford Areas)

  • The Greater Fairfield County Foundation, Inc. (the philanthropic arm of the Fairfield County  Connecticut Chapter of The Links, Incorporated) is offering five scholarships (one award to a student who resides and attends schools in the Greater Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk and Stamford areas) in the amount of $3,000 each. There is one scholarship that will be awarded to a student who intends to matriculate at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Scholarships will be awarded to high school graduates of color (Class of 2022) who will pursue post-secondary educational experiences at a Four Year College, Community College or Technical School. Eligible candidates must have earned a cumulative 3.0 grade point average and in need of financial assistance. 


     We are enlisting your partnership and supporting with distributing the attached application to candidates who meet these requirements.  The Foundation's Scholarship Committee will review applications and  make final selections no later than June 1, 2022. Please do not hesitate to disseminate this  application to all students within the Greater Fairfield County service area.

     The submission deadline is March 1, 2022 .  Incomplete applications or applications not submitted by March 1, 2022 will not be accepted.  A completed  application  consists of the following materials:

    1.     Application form

    2.     Financial Need form

    3.     Copy of the entire FAFSA report

    4.      Transcript

    5.     Copy of the student’s SAT and/or ACT scores

    6.     Brief essay describing student's interests, community involvement and professional aspirations

    7.     Two letters of recommendation 

    8.     Photo of student with name written on back
