We are busy at our stations.  During our 90 minute Literacy block of time, the children go to different stations/centers to work on different activities.  They listen to stories on CD or tape, work on sight words, practice their ABC's, write using our word walls and explore at our science center.  They also go on the computer and read books in our library.

During guided reading a small group of children meet with me to read a book, work on letters, sounds, blending words (sounding out words) and other beginning reading skills.  While we are working the rest of the class works on activities at the other stations.  They become independent learners through hands on activites.  Ms. Metwally is always assisting a group at her table or working with children independently in the room.
