  • Parents of 8th Grade Students:

Eighth grade students have an exciting opporunity to apply for different specialized high school programs in the area. All of our students are guaranteed spots at either Central High School, Harding High School, or Bassick High School, depending on the student's address. Below is some infomation about other programs that students can apply for. Please keep in mind that all paper applications are due to me by November 6th this year. Notices will be sent home when the online applications for Fairchild Wheeler and Bridgeport Military Academy are available. The high school application process can seem overwhelming. If you have questions or concerns, please call and set an appointment to review the application process.

About Ms. Johnson

I began working as the School Counselor at Read School in 2014. I love working in Bridgeport, and have met many wonderful people while working here at Read. I went to UConn for my bachelor's degree, and then Fairfield University for my Master's in School Counseling. When I am not at school, I like to play with my one year old son, go running, or read a book. I will read just about anything, and recently finished (and loved) the Harry Potter series!
