Transitioning Students for Success (TSS) was developed in 2009 in response to the increasing need to provide high-quality education to Bridgeport's most vulnerable academically and behaviorally challenged students in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) possible. TSS incorporates a comprehensive system of screening, planning, placement, monitoring, follow-up, and data collection for special education students. The program's multi-model approach has resulted in the district's highest-ever number of successful transitions of Special Education students from long-standing, restrictive placements back to their regular, home-school environments.
