Today we enjoyed an assembly by the Harlem Globetrotters! They taught us how to stand up to bullies. Ask you child all about it!
We are working very hard in class. The students are getting a lot of time to read on their level, and do work stations to enhance their literacy skills.
Our newest type of writing is persuasive! We are trying to notice that sometimes author's write to get us to believe, feel or do something. We are paying attention for this while we read and even when we watch tv adverstisements! We will soon be writing our own persuasive pieces.
In math we are still working on multiplication and division. Encourage your child to ask questions during lessons. Especially if they don't understand one of the steps to long division.
This week we will have a spelling test on Friday.
We will also have a vocabulary test on the words for our new story called: Dear Mr. Winston. You can read this story online on thinkcentral.com and you can find the vocabulary word cards in your child's envelope.
Reading logs are due Next week!
