Hello, my name is George Noyes and I teach both History and Business at Bassick. I am looking forward to getting back into the classroom for the 2020-2021 school year. This year, I am teaching Marketing, U.S. History, and Advanced Placement U.S. History (APUSH). I am excited about our new block schedule. We will have longer classes, which will give us more time to learn. I use the Project Based Learning model of instruction. I believe that when students are given the freedom to choose what they want to learn, there is a lot more engagement with the content. I am also a big believer in developing important skills that students need for the rest of their lives, regardless of where their educational / occupational pathway takes them. Those skills are critical thinking; communication; collaboration; creativity; and problem-solving. My goal is for every student to feel safe, challenged, and filled with curiosity.
Outside of school, I enjoy cooking (especially sourdough bread), reading, running (completed a half-marathon), working out, playing tennis and sailing. I am also huge soccer fan (Spurs) and a soccer referee. I have two daughters. My oldest just graduated from college and my youngest is a high school senior.
The best way to contact me is through email.
