Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. My name is Mr. Garcia, and I am proud to be Bassick High School's Band Director. 

For the past 7 years I have taught Band, Choir and General Music in grades K-12.  3 of those years have been with Bridgeport Public Schools, while the rest have been in Stratford and in Kissimmee, Florida. I am a proud UConn Husky alum, holding 2 Bachelors Degrees from the University of Connecticut: 1 in Education and the other in Music.  I also hold a Masters Degree in Instructional Design & Technology from Full Sail University.  I am a passionate sports fan, cheering for the Tennessee Titans in the NFL and the UConn Huskies basketball teams.  I also freelance as a professional trumpet player with different bands/artists across the NY Tri-state area. I love to listen to salsa, funk and latin jazz music. In addition, I spent 1 year traveling around the world while performing with the B.B. King's All-Star Band on Holland America cruise ships. I have also visisted 44 out of the 50 states.
