All school-age children who live in Bridgeport are eligible to attend Bridgeport Public Schools. Enrollment is available year-round.

How to Enroll Your Child

• Step 1: Complete the online registration here for grades K-12 
  • Create a parent account
  • Fill out all forms
  • Upload required documents
• Step 2: Gather all required documentation (see checklist below).
• Step 3: Schedule your in-person appointment here
  • One appointment is required per student
  • An appointment is needed for EACH student being enrolled
  • Schedule appointments back-to-back if enrolling multiple children.
    Example: for 2 students schedule 10:00am and 10:30am.

Kindergarten Enrollment:

For the 2026-2027 school year:

• Children must turn 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026
• Early entry is NO LONGER allowed due to state requirements

Who Does NOT Need to Re-Register

You do NOT need to complete online registration if:

• Your child is already enrolled in a Bridgeport Public School
• Your child is transferring within the district

Important Notes

• Upload documents before submitting registration to speed up the process
• If you do not have permanent housing, contact us after completing registration
• School assignments are based on your home address
• Missing documents = incomplete registration

Required Documents Checklist
Bring or upload the following:

1. Student Documents

• Birth certificate (official, with seal) or passport
• Parent/Guardian ID (government issued)
• Medical records (physical + immunizations)
• School records (if transferring)
• Custody/guardianship documents (if applicable)

2. Proof of Residency (2 required)

• Mortgage statement, tax bill, or lease
• OR notarized letter if living with someone
• CT driver’s license or state ID
• 2 months of canceled rent checks
• Two utility bills (no phone bills)

Pre-School Enrollment Requirements

Age Requirements (2026-2027)

• PK3: Must be 3 years old by September 1, 2026
• PK4: Must be 4 years old by September 1, 2026

✅ Flu shot required by January 2, 2027

Additional Requirements

• 4 recent pay stubs (each parent/guardian)
• OR proof of income (unemployment, Social Security, DSS, tax return, etc.)
• Family size information
• Health insurance information
