Chairman’s Report
Christine Baptiste-Perez, Chairman of the Board of Education, presented a report of recent community meetings and school events, including an interview on the Lisa Wexler Show, a meeting with the Make the Roads Youth Action Committee, the Adult Ed Spring Concert at Central High School, Black Wall Street at Hall Neighborhood House, and a video from the Fairchild IT Youthful Impact Awards.

Superintendent’s Report
Superintendent Dr. Carmela Levy-David reported on her participation in numerous community events including the Charlie Tisdale Scholarship Luncheon, the Alliance for Empowerment Annual Meeting and scholarship awards, the Bridgeport Public Education Fund’s 30th Inspiration Awards honoring exceptional educators and leaders, and the annual meeting of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering. The Superintendent visited key BPS programs including Tango Flight at Bassick and the Thomas E. Carroll Nutrition Center. She held a student leadership and public service retreat for student representatives to the Board and other student leaders. The Superintendent also shared news of recent advocacy, including participating in a press conference on bus safety hosted by State Senator Gaston and attending the Mayor’s State of the City luncheon.
New Business
The Board then discussed and approved new items, which had been vetted in committee meetings:
· John Winthrop and Luis Munoz Marin Field Trip to Boston, MA
· Bridgeport Military Academy Field Trip to Kettletown State Park in Southbury, CT
· Non-Fiction Book Purchase through Capstone
· Approval of Contracting Agreement with CES for the Delivery of Elements for the District’s Facilities Master Plan
· Authorization to file FCC Form 471, Schools and Libraries Universal Service Program for Fiscal Year 24-25
